Progress at the ArtFarm
This spring finally saw some vegetable planting at the ArtFarm. In March, a work party of seven women, including my visiting daughter, planted all 8 raised beds with the beautiful plants donated by Armstrong Growers. Irrigation was installed by Thomas Fredericks' crew and the plants are thriving. We also have 5 Dalbergia trees which were delivered by Bob Williams Nursery in Indio.
A core group of volunteers has been monitoring the plants almost every day, hand watering and adjusting the irrigation schedule as needed. Kesling's Kitchen has been using the veggies as they mature.
Noted landscape designer Andie Cochran is currently working on a new plan for the ArtFarm layout. She and Colby Eierman, the farm manager at Stone Edge Farm Winery, visited the site and have been working with us to come up with a cohesive and workable plan. We are very excited to have their help, and will post the design as soon as it is finalized.
